Greetings, Parents!
It is my pleasure to serve as your 2022 Cheer Director. Coach Campbell has diligently served as EYSA Cheer Director the past several years and has decided to serve as Assistant Cheer Director for the 2022 cheer season. I admit that I have some huge shoes to fill, but I will do my best to serve our cheerleaders this season. I want their experience with EYSA to be a memorable experience that serves them well throughout their entire lives.
Team Effort
I have the title of Cheer Director, however, we need all hands on deck in order to make the 2022 cheer season the best season yet. I have created several committees that will serve in various capacities throughout the season. You will see the following committees and descriptions listed on your child's registration form:
Fundraiser Committee- This committee is responsible for researching fundraisers and bringing the committee's ideas to the Cheer Director. Committee members are responsible for helping advertise fundraisers as well as manage the collections process (order forms, money due, etc.).
Homecoming Committee- This committee is responsible for planning the EYSA Cheerleading Annual Homecoming Celebration. Event planning for homecoming includes, but is not limited to providing gifts and food for the cheerleaders as well as setting up and cleaning up the dining area in between games.
Competition Committee- This committee will assist in making sure our cheerleaders have signage, snacks, and appropriate gear for competition.
Breast Cancer Awareness Committee-This committee is responsible for breast cancer awareness gear. This gear includes but is not limited to bows, socks, shirts, etc.
End of Season Celebration Committee- This committee helps plan the end of season celebration. Planning includes, but is not limited to decorations, food, awards/certificates, gifts, etc.
Spirit/Pep Committee- This committee is responsible for engaging parents in team spirit. The Spirit/Prep committee will think of creative ideas to engage crowd participation.
Director's Advisory Board Committee - This committee meets with the Cheer Director to discuss ideas and new initiatives throughout the year. Team Moms and Team Dads are automatically assigned to this committee.
Fees
Please check this section regularly for updates. It is my hope to keep fees as affordable as possible. Unfortunately, our harsh reality is that prices have increased across the board for all products and services. I will do my absolute best to secure quality, affordable uniforms, warmups, and shoes for our cheerleaders. I do, however, want to manage expectations. If fees remain flat, it will be more difficult to purchase uniforms that meet our standards. We are also in a race against time. If you are a returning cheer parent, please note that due dates for fees will be earlier this season versus previous season.
Let's Get Started
We have lots of work to do! Please register your child no later than July 15, 2022. We need more lead time than previous years due to supply chain issues and product shortages. We would like our cheerleaders uniformed and ready to cheer on the first game.
If you have any questions, please contact me via email at eysacheerleading@gmail.com, text/call 804-518-8105. My previous telephone is still a great way to contact me as well.
This season marks the 14th year I have been involved with EYSA Cheerleading. I started my journey with EYSA when my oldest daughter was 4 years old and I have had the privilege of watching each of my 3 daughters work the ranks from mascot to senior. My oldest two have continued to volunteer as cheer coaches upon aging out of CCL. I, much like many of you, wanted to be involved in my children's cheer association. I realized then, as well as now, that it indeed takes a village to raise our children. I look forward in continuing to work with your family this season while upholding the tradition of EYSA Cheer. Teamwork truly makes the dream work!
GO TROJANS!!!
